Located on the roof of the newly constructed Interlock building in West Midtown, Rooftop L.O.A is the newest venue by the Slater Hospitality team, owners of the rooftop at Ponce City Market. With views of the city, Rooftop L.O.A. (Leave of Absence) is Atlanta’s newest spot for dining, socializing, private events, and poolside partying.
Wine Captains are the direct line of communication between the guest and the restaurant staff, and the biggest promoter of the guest experience within the restaurant.

LOA Wine Captains manage a small section of tables while supporting their team with wine service and guest suggestions. They pair guests with seasonal food and drink choices that are sure to match their palates. Wine Captains are leaders of the service team and integral members of the Rooftop LOA beverage experience.
Requirements:
- 2 years prior experience in a wine focused role OR WSET level 3/CMS Certified Sommelier certification.
- In depth knowledge of Old World and New World wine regions, as well as classic varietals.
- Comprehensive understanding of the wine making process.
- Understand and identify wine faults.
- Ability to conduct staff education.
- Proper wine presentation.
- Experience with, or an understanding of, how to operate a POS system Must be at least 21 years old.
- An elevated, professional, and clean appearance.
- Must have a genuine sense of hospitality.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- A team oriented attitude.
- Eagerness to learn and to improve as a well-rounded beverage professional.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Make wine recommendations to all Rooftop LOA guests based on their preferences, budget and menu selections.
- Be a subject matter expert for the service team in all things beverage- wine, beer, liquor, coffee and tea.
- Prepare and stock wine stations before service.
- Full knowledge of menu and bar (ingredients, allergies, etc).
- Taking drink and food orders in a timely manner.
- Excellence in time management.
- Consistently extend hospitality to every guest.
- Serve multiple guests at the same time.
- Diligent communication (with bartenders, chef/cooks, SAs, managers) – communicate appropriate information regarding needs, changes, or special circumstances.
- Pre-set dining room according to reservations.
- Correctly enter items into Toast.
- Work in tandem with the entire service team.
- Assist with pre-bussing and resetting when necessary.
